Definitions

Within the Nanometer assessment the terms nanomaterials, nanostructured materials, and nanoparticles are commonly used. These are broadly defined as nanoscale materials that are: (1) deliberately engineered (i.e. not natural or unintentional by products of other processes) and (2) have at least one dimension broadly in the nanoscale.
