Tips to get startedTips to get started and how to make the most out of it:
- Decide what target group you want to address. In general, the Nanometer can be used to address internal and external communication purposes. It can (1) stimulate the internal discussion on what societal aspects are or may become relevant for your application or (2) demonstrate your awareness for societal topics by describing your measures taken accordingly, which can be of major importance when applying for public R&D funding.
- During the assessment, bear in mind what the informational requirements of the target group are and use the comment boxes accordingly.
- Be honest! Irrespective of the target group addressed, the results of the Nanometer will only prove helpful if truthfully completed. Your answers will be anonymous at all times and not accessible to third parties.
- Beware that this early stage assessment only provides a rough rating scale, which makes your comments and your rationale behind the rating even more important!
